
MAGNOLIA SOCCER CLUB

Board
The Magnolia Soccer Club is presided over by a Board of Directors. All Board members are volunteers in the community with a passion for keeping youth soccer running in the Magnolia community.
The Board meets on an as-needed basis. The Board sets policy, develops new programs, and interfaces with the Seattle Youth Soccer Association, the umbrella organization for youth soccer in the Seattle area. Any decisions regarding the Club, that fall between the requirements in place by SYSA, are made by the Board.
President, Treasurer, and Secretary are required positions of any nonprofit. All other roles are added and filled as needed and based on the number of volunteers who sign up to participate.

Executive Board
Our Executive Board is responsible for maintaining the spirit of the Club, keeping the Board staffed with passionate volunteers, and making the most crucial Club-related decisions.
All Board members, including our Executive Board members, are volunteers.
Board
President
Club President is a required role to maintain our 501c3 status as a non-profit organization.
The Club President guides the Board to ensure that we maintain our ethos as a recreational youth Club where every Magnolia child has the opportunity to play.

Disciplinary Representative
The Disciplinary Representative represents our Club at Disciplinary Committee meetings (once monthly and ad hoc as needed). The Disciplinary Committee charged with investigating and adjudicating repeated and/or serious violations of our sportsmanship standards at the Association level of play.

Registrar
The Registrar is responsible for assisting parents and players with registering for the current season.
The Registrar monitors team numbers, alongside our Division Coordinators, and helps connect late registered players with their coaches and equip them with any information they may have missed.

U10 Division Coordinator
Our Division Coordinators create the teams for their assigned age group and act as a go-to person regarding age-specific rules throughout the season.
The U10 DC creates teams for Association play and helps introduce parents to the SYSA play structure.

Association Division Coordinator
Our Association DC maintains teams in the U11-U18 divisions, merging teams as needed to meet roster minimums, as determined by SYSA.
The Association DC works with the Communications Lead to advertise for more players if a team risks being dissolved due to low turnout.

Administrative Team
Secretary*
Secretary is a required role to maintain our 501c3 status as a non-profit organization.
The Secretary is responsible for designing agendas and taking minutes for all Board and Executive Board meetings. The Secretary maintains organization of our Club Shared Drive and keeps records for the required amount of time by law.

Communications Lead
The Communications Lead heads our Administrative Team. Communications Lead is responsible for the majority of Club communication, including gathering information from other Board members and sending regular communication in a timely manner.
The Communications Lead is responsible for the info@magnoliasoccer.org mailbox, ensuring that MSC families receive responses to their inquiries in a timely manner.

Sponsorship Coordinator*
The Sponsorship Coordinator is responsible for promoting the Club among local companies and collecting monetary donations in return for sponsorships of teams, events, and more. The Sponsorship Coordinator works closely with our Uniform and Event Coordinators.

Digital Coordinator*
The Coach Appreciation Coordinator is responsible for working with local businesses to offer our volunteer coaches and board members special opportunities to thank them for their dedication and hard work.
The Coach Appreciation Coordinator works closely with our Uniform and Merchandise Coordinators to find fun gifts for our coaches each year.
The role of Coach Appreciation Coordinator is PENDING for the 2026 season.
The Merchandise Coordinator is responsible for maintaining our team store with ProTime and for designing and ordering merchandise to sell at MSC events.
In addition to fundraising, merchandise is an opportunity to build community support and comrodery.

The Digital Coordinator is responsible for maintaining and updating our magnoliasoccer.org website.
This includes maintaining our domain host and ensuring that any fees associated with our site are paid on time.
The Digital Coordinator may also post on our socials, maintain our email accounts, and maintain our Asana and Slack accounts pending necessity.

Logistics Team
Logistics Lead
Coaching Director
The Coaching Director is responsible for advising volunteer coaches, both with regular updates and upon request.
The Coaching Director has the opportunity to provide training and advisory sessions for coaches before the season begins.

Fields Coordinator*
The Fields Coordinator is responsible for receiving and responding to any complaints or issues with our Magnolia fields, including vandalism, weather-related wear and tear, etc.
The Fields Coordinator will work closely with Seattle Parks & Recreation on ensuring that all our fields are operational throughout the season.

MOD Referee Coordinator
The MOD Referee Coordinator is responsible for training our MOD Referees (registered players in divisions U9-U13) and sending out weekly referring opportunities.
The MOD Referee Coordinator ensures that every MOD game has a referee scheduled to attend.

UKIS Coordinator*
The UKIS Coordinator is responsible for being the Club's liaison between us and UK International Soccer, our coaching partner for U8-U11.
The UKIS Coordinator reviews and signs all contracts with UKIS, assists with advertising upcoming camps and clinics with MSC families on their behalf, and reports any scheduling errors to UKIS.

MOD Team
MOD Lead
The MOD Lead oversees our entire MOD division (U6-U9, ages 5-8).
MOD (or "modified") soccer has adjusted rules to better fit the skill levels of our youngest players.
Unlike Association levels, MOD levels are under the jurisdiction of Magnolia Soccer Club, and our MOD Lead is responsible for adjusting rules as needed, as well as ensuring that the spirit and ethos of the Club is maintained at all MOD levels.

Operations Lead
Equipment Coordinator*
The Equipment Coordinator is responsible for maintaining our equipment, distributing them to coaches, refilling as needed, and collecting at the end of the season.

Uniform Coordinator
The Uniform Coordinator is responsible for ordering, checking for quality control, and distributing uniforms to coaches.
The Uniform Coordinator works closely with Sponsorship to match sponsors with teams and with U10 and Association Division Coordinators to get players' information on jerseys.

Events Team
Events Lead*
The Events Lead heads our Events Team and is responsible for ensuring that the Club stays on schedule for all upcoming events.
The Events Lead works closely with all teams, verifying and sending reminders when needed to other Board members of upcoming due dates.

Kick Off Coordinator*
The Kick Off Coordinator is responsible for organizing and hosting our MOD Kick Off during the last week of August.
This includes working with Sponsorship on an event sponsor, with the Communications Lead on contacting coaches and parents, and ordering supplies for the event (available for reimbursement through the Club Treasurer).

Photo Day Coordinator*
World Cup Coordinator
The World Cup Coordinator is responsible for organizing and hosting our MOD World Cup on the last Sunday in October
This includes working with Sponsorship on an event sponsor, with the Communications Lead on contacting coaches and parents, and ordering supplies for the event (available for reimbursement through the Club Treasurer).

Treasurer
Treasurer is a required role to maintain our 501c3 status as a non-profit organization.
The Treasurer is responsible for maintaining complete, current, and accurate records of all financial transactions of the Club.
The Treasurer is responsible for all funds of the Club, which shall be deposited in the name of the Club in one or more checking accounts, saving accounts, or money market mutual funds sponsored by state or federally chartered banking institutions.
The Treasurer prepares a detailed annual budget for the Club's operations for presentation no less than one Board meeting per year.
The Treasurer registers the Club annually as a non-profit corporation with the WA Secretary of State.
The Treasurer prepares and submits reports required by the IRS.
The Treasurer provides recommendations on all Club expenditures prior to any financial commitments being made, reimburses board members for any pre-approved Club related expenses, and pays vendors.
