Roles & Responsibilities

President

  • Oversee general activities of the Club
  • Convene meetings of the Board and set agenda
  • Cast any necessary tie breaking votes
  • Nominate non-officer positions within the Club (i.e. Summer Coordinator, Mod Ref Coordinator, etc.)
  • Ensure the Club operates within all governing organizations and documents
  • Manages the vendor relationship of the Academy Program

Secretary/Auditor

  • Provide notice, act as parliamentarian, vote valid proxies and record the minutes of meetings of the members and the Board
  • Maintain the club in good standing with the State of Washington
  • Maintain complete, current and accurate Club records such as copies of the Articles of Incorporation, Bylaws, Board resolutions and motions, minutes of meetings, etc.
  • Represent the Club at all meetings regarding rules, conduct of players, and other judicial matters. These meetings are scheduled by SYSA and WSYSA
  • Preside at monthly meetings of SYSA Judicial Committee

Judicial Coordinator

  • Represent the Club at all meetings regarding rules, conduct of players, and other judicial matters. These meetings are scheduled by SYSA and WSYSA
  • Preside at monthly meetings of SYSA Judicial Committee

Treasurer

  • Maintain complete, current, and accurate records of all financial transactions of the Club
  • Publish a monthly report reflecting the current financial position to the Board
  • Be responsible for all funds of the Club which shall be deposited in the name of the Club in one or more checking accounts, savings accounts, or money market mutual funds sponsored by state of federally chartered banking institutions
  • Prepare a detailed annual budget for the Club's operations for presentation at the Club's February Board of Director's meeting
  • Register the Club annually as a non-profit corporation with the WA State Secretary of State
  • Prepare and submit Internal Revenue Service reports required by law
  • Provide recommendation on all Club expenditures prior to any financial commitment being made

Coaching Director

  • Develop Code of Conduct and enforcement policies
  • Schedule clinics for coaches training
  • Establish training and development programs for players and coaches during the season and during the off-season
  • Identify training opportunities
  • Maintains relationship with all coaches and recruits new coaches as needed

Fields Director

  • Fields Advocate for the club keeping abreast of field issues in Seattle
  • Responsible for placement and movement of Association & MOD fields and goal equipment
  • Recommends field and equipment improvements
  • Acts as liaison with Seattle Parks and Recreation, SYSA Field Task Force and other local clubs
  • Provides field availabilty to the Field Scheduler

Fields Scheduler

  • Manages and creates the practice schedule for all teams (Association & MOD)
  • Manages and creates the game scheudle for MOD teams
  • Manages and creates the Academy, World Cup and U10 Jamboree schedule

SYSA Commissioner

  • Represent the Club at all meetings of SYSA, WSYSA, and other organizations with which the Club is associated, except those which these Bylaws assign to the Judicial Coordinator
  • Disseminate information from SYSA (schedules, policies, programs, etc.)

Select Representive

  • Keeps the club informed on changes to Select programs in the Seattle area
  • Updates Select information on the website for the community and addresses questions as needed

Referee Director

  • Responsible for recruiting, training, and scheduling qualified Association & MOD level referee

Safety Officer

  • Sets youth safety guidelines for the club and educates coaches on current safety requirements and best practices

Spring Soccer Coordinator

  • Provides guidance for coaches and families interested in the spring soccer program run by SYSA.

Webmaster

  • Manages the club website.

Photo Coordinator

  • Manages the vendor relationship and scheduling with the club photography.

Equipment Director(s)

  • Responsible for purchasing and maintaining Club uniforms and equipment such as soccer balls, nets, goals, first aid kits, etc
  • Prepare budget for Treasurer before the February deadline
  • Distribute equipment to and collect equipment from coaches as needed
  • Publish and maintain an inventory report

Referee Coordinator

  • Responsible for managing MOD level referees

MOD Coordinator/Registrar

  • Responsible for proper annual registration of teams, players, and coaches within the MOD program
  • Coordinates and provides guidance to U6-U9 Coordinators
  • Manages communication to all coaches for the season

U6-U9 Coordinator(s)

  • Assign registered players to teams
  • Recruits and manages coach relationships for division

Mini-Camp Coordinator

  • Organizes and runs the preseason mini-camp for the MOD program

World Cup Coordinator

  • Organizes and runs the end of year World Cup event for the MOD program

Registrar

  • Responsible for proper annual registration of teams, players, and coaches with WSYSA and SYSA
  • Responsible for all insurance matters for the Club
  • Assign registered players to teams
  • Maintain records on all players registered with the Club
  • Publish registration information to the Board

Registrar Coordinator

  • Assign registered players to teams
  • Assists the Registar as needed
